Someday I'd like to market my own line of rodent-removal products. I'll use the tagline "IT'S A TRAP!" |

Hey kids! So I'm taking photos at a wedding this Saturday! Totally exciting, right?
I'm looking for some advice from some of the many, many photographers on this community. Specifically, lighting advice!
Is there any advice you have for someone who just wants to take decent pictures? I've sadly never been to the location (not very smart, I know, but it's in Vantucky and I don't have a car) but I am going to be there earlier in the day to gauge what I need.
But basically what I'm going to be doing is taking photos of the bride, groom & extended families, but I'm worried about lighting. I don't have any sort of light kit or stuff like that, beyond my camera's flash. I've been wanting to buy a light kit anyway, but I'm convinced that something like that will be extremely helpful for the ceremony & reception.
OH, also (why do I suck so hard at writing more than three sentences?!) I'd like to hopefully spend less than $200, because I am a poor college student. Yay!
Specs: I have a Digital Canon Powershot that I've always had super good luck with, as well as a film Canon Rebel to use. Both indoor and outdoor photography, but I'm more concerned about the indoor stuff. The wedding starts around 6pm, so I'm going to assume night to indoor photography.
What would you guys suggest?
Thank you!

This bread is either really multi-grain or really moldy. My life is full of said excitement. |

| Anyone Interested in Learning Cantonese? |
[Jul. 11th, 2009|01:09 pm] |
My boyfriend and I want to take Beginner's Cantonese classes at Bodhi Tree Learning Center but unfortunately, the class is scheduled for Friday evenings, which could quite possibly be the worst possible timing for us considering the fact that we both work at restaurants. He is a native speaker, but needs to learn how to read and write Chinese. I'm an absolute beginner.
We contacted them and they'd be willing to schedule private lessons, but that would cost us $400 each if we did it with the two of us.
The rate is $45/hour, with a charge of $5/hour for each additional person. They require a 2 hour lesson per week for a minimum of 8 weeks. They also require payment upfront.
If we found 2 other people to join us, an 8 week class would cost $240 per person, plus the cost of materials(they told us their textbook costs $20). If we found 3 other people to join us, an 8 week class would cost $208 per person, plus the cost of materials. If we found 4 other people, the class would cost $190 per person, which is only 10 dollars more than the group class they offer.
Our schedule is flexible, but Fridays and Saturdays are out of the question for us.
If you are interested, please leave a comment or email me at SarahaParrott@gmail.com ASAP! The more people we get the cheaper it will be for all of us!

| Sad. |
[Jul. 7th, 2009|02:20 pm] |
I'm pretty sad that I'll never get to be in a polyandrous relationship with Michael Buble. My only hope is to become famous so that he'll notice me.
We went to see him Vegas this past weekend. He was gorgeous and I love him. |

I have a million pictures from a Trillium lake trip today... I might post a few more, but I'll spare you from looking at 34878 views of Mt. Hood. :) |
